Rubber bands are to be worn 24 hours per day unless otherwise directed.
They should be out of your mouth only when you are brushing your teeth.
They should be worn during meals because this is when you will get the most
pull from them.
If they break while you are eating, change them immediately. You might want to put new
rubber bands on just before meals so they won't break while you are eating.
Rubber bands come in different packages. If you are running out of them, give the office
a call and we can mail them to you or you may come in and pick them up. All you must remember
is the type of package.
NEVER BE WITHOUT YOUR RUBBER BANDS!! Carry a package with you at all times, or put a bunch
of them on the pencils/pens you have and use at school.
Your teeth will be sore for about 3 days. Take an analgesic (Tylenol or Ibuprofen) and
the soreness will subside. If you are constantly removing the rubber bands when your
teeth get sore and replacing them later when your teeth feel better, all you are doing
is rocking your teeth back and forth, making them very sore.
If you take them out for meals or even for
an hour or two everyday, it will take twice as long to get the job done.
IF THERE IS ANY REASON YOU ARE UNABLE TO WEAR YOUR RUBBER BANDS, CALL
THE OFFICE AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO COME IN IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT WAIT
UNTIL YOUR NEXT APPOINTMENT.
